Pier 24 and the Pilara Foundation

After our field trip on Friday, I was thinking about all of the places that we won't be able to go this semester.  One place that we truly wanted to take you but didn't have the time is Pier 24.  This is a new space dedicated to photography.  It houses the Pilara Foundation collection which is an amazing collection of 20th and 21st century photography.  Right now, they are also showing work from the Randi and Bob Fisher Collection (the guys who started and run The Gap).  This might become the most important institution in bay area photography.  Not only does it house a great collection of photography but it is an suburb building.  Here is a link to their website, check it out and make an appointment to go there next time you are in SF.  It is right under the bay bridge on the Embarcadero.
